· League Basketball: The next game is Monday and League Basketball travels to Hughes Academy; directions to Hughes will be posted on the League Webpage, Athletics Tab.
· SC Jr. Book Pizza Party: Students, don’t delay!! February 20th is the deadline for reading 5 SC Jr. Book award nominees if you want to be invited to the pizza celebration during 8th period on February 27th. There will be music, games and of course Pizza! See Ms. Gray in the Media Center for more information. There are almost 4 weeks left to get your reading done, so you’ve still got time.
· WHHS Pre-Spring Information Thing: All eighth grade students who will attend Wade Hampton High School are invited with their parents to the Pre-Spring Information Thing drop in at the WHHS commons cafeteria area on Monday February 2nd from 5:30 to 7:30. This is the night to learn all about the high school and all the offerings available to students.
· Chick-fil-A Biscuits: Every Friday biscuits are sold in the car line by PTA. Thanks for your support.
· Spring Sports: Sign Ups concluded Friday for Spring Sports, any student who has not signed up should see the coach immediately. Try Outs can begin February 2nd; see the coach or their website for a schedule of conditioning and try outs. Students MUST have a Physical turned in before they can try out; any student who participated in a High School sport is responsible to get a copy of their physical to play here at League.
· WHHS Track: Any young man or woman in the 7th or 8th grade that would like to run Track this spring at Wade Hampton should plan to attend a meeting with the Wade Hampton Track Coaches in the WHHS commons area on Thursday January 22nd at 6:00PM. The meeting should last no more than 45 minutes. Parents are encouraged to attend. Track practice for middle school athletes will begin on Monday February 2nd at the Wade Hampton Track at 3:45. If you are not able to attend and would like to participate, call the school and leave a message for Coach Zeller or Coach Serina.
· Yearbooks: It’s time to order yearbooks. Order by phone, mail, or online. Just click the link on the League Webpage. If you have questions see Mrs. Blankenship in room 811. The deadline to order your Year Book is February 2nd. There will be year Books available for sale when they come out and they will cost more and supplies will be limited.
· Anti-Drug Poster Contest: Congratulations to Ms. McCauley and her Art students who were honored yesterday for the winning entries for the Anti-Drug Poster contest. The following students are the winners: Madison P., Emma L., Olivia F., Clairee R., Rayne M., and Elise H. Way to Go!
· Sports Physicals! Reminder, any student wishing to tryout for any sport, must have a Physical completed and signed by the doctor and turned in to the coach prior to engaging in any tryouts. Physical forms can be obtained by going to the League website and clicking on the Athletics tab and printing a copy, picking up a copy in the front office, or students can pick a copy up from Mr. McCartney in room 316. Don’t wait till the last minute, get the physical done immediately!
